Jacob Seitz is a managing director in the Commercial practice at Andersen, where he advises clients on complex state and local tax matters, with a primary focus on state income and franchise tax planning and compliance. He has 20 years of experience serving clients in a wide range of industries.
Jacob’s practice centers on helping clients manage multistate tax risk while identifying and implementing value-added planning opportunities. His work includes state income tax planning and compliance, apportionment analysis, legal entity rationalization, supply chain and operating model efficiencies, and debt optimization strategies. He also regularly advises on the state and local tax implications of federal tax legislation, including the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act/One Big Beautiful Bill Act and elective state pass-through entity tax regimes.
In addition to ongoing compliance support, Jacob leads large multistate compliance and consulting engagements, coordinating with client tax and finance teams. He has significant experience with audit defense and controversy, including managing state income and franchise tax audits and negotiating voluntary disclosure and settlement arrangements. Jacob also frequently partners with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on transaction planning, diligence, and post-acquisition integration from a state and local tax perspective.
Before joining Andersen, Jacob worked in the indirect tax and multistate tax practices of EY and Deloitte, where he advised Fortune 500 and middle-market clients on a broad spectrum of state and local tax issues.
