Andersen Presenting at Credits & Incentives Symposium

The Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), founded in 1976, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational association serving over 4100 members representing approximately 1450 corporations, firms, or taxpayers throughout the United States and Canada. It is the only professional organization that educates, certifies and establishes strict codes of conduct for state and local income, property and sales & use tax professionals who represent taxpayers (government officials or organizations do not qualify for membership). The Institute also provides excellent educational programs in Value Added Tax (VAT) and Credits & Incentives.

IPT's Credits and Incentives Symposium takes place at The Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, IL on October 22-25, 2017. Jeff Malo, Andersen Managing Director, and Annette Fago, Andersen Director, will be presenting. Jackie Orea, Andersen Managing Director, will also be in attendance to represent the firm. Annette Fago will be co-presenting at the general session on Tuesday, October 24th from 9:30am-10:30am on the topic of “Election 2016 Fallout Continues: Negotiating Tactics During Turbulent Times.” Jeff Malo’s presentation is titled “Research and Development Tax Credits: Federal Changes and State Differences” and will take place on Monday, October 23 from 12:30pm-1:30pm and repeated at 1:40pm-2:40pm in a breakout session.

Jeff Malo has over 15 years of experience in both tax and government service. He focuses on federal and state research credits. Jeff has extensive industry knowledge in technology and manufacturing, computer sciences, pharmaceuticals, and financial services. His background combines the technical expertise of Big Four consulting, with an in-depth understanding of tax administration. His experience spans the full lifecycle of taxation, from planning and reporting through examination defense and controversy resolution.

Annette Fago has over 17 years of experience in public accounting, government and local economic development. She focuses on tax credit and negotiated incentive consulting, including negotiated incentives related to company relocation and expansion activities. Most recently she served in similar consultative roles assisting clients in negotiating and implementing comprehensive economic incentives packages throughout the United States with programs such as the California Competes Tax Credit, Virginia Governor’s Opportunity Fund, and Pennsylvania Keystone Opportunity Zones.
